About the post
Who we are, who we're named for, and what we do for Estacada.
Our namesake
The post carries the name of Carl Douglas, a serviceman the post honors for his sacrifice while on active duty. Naming a post after a fallen service member is a Legion tradition — it keeps one person's story at the center of the post's work, generation after generation.
[Note for the post: if there's a fuller story of Carl Douglas — hometown, service branch, year — we'd love to add it here with your review.]
Community partnership
Post 74 is a proud partner behind the Estacada Veteran's Memorial, located on SW 2nd Street in downtown Estacada. The memorial's two "Walls of Honor" hold engraved bricks for veterans and first responders, added twice a year, arranged along figure-eight walkways meant to symbolize infinity. An eagle statue on permanent loan from Post 74 stands at the memorial.
